St. Teresa of Avila Novena

St. Teresa was a Spanish nun and well known for establishing the Discalced Carmelites and known for her practice of mental prayer and blessed with visions and inner voices. She was also called Saint Teresa of Jesus.

St. Teresa was a Carmelite nun, a prominent Spanish mystic, religious reformer, author, theologian, and strong practice of mental prayer and later was declared as a Doctor of the Church.

She is the patron saint of  Spain, Požega, Croatia, Talisay City, Cebu, Philippines, sick people, people in religious orders, people ridiculed for their piety, and lace makers.

Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada, also called Saint Teresa was born on 28 March 1515 and was hugely devoted towards Christianity.

Teresa entered the Carmelite convent of the Incarnation at Ávila, Spain. Her declining health and her absence from physical worship made her practice mental prayer.

In 1555, she underwent a religious awakening and worked towards the restoration of Carmelite life to its original state of austerity she wanted to exercise “our vocation of reparation” for the sins of humankind so that nuns could meditate on divine law and, through a prayerful life of penance.

St. Teresa opened the first convent St. Joseph’s of the Carmelite Reform in 1562. Later St. Teresa directed and founded more convents and established monasteries. Juan de Yepes, helped St. Teresa to build the Carmelite Reform for men and later monasteries.

Throughout her life, she established and nurtured 16 more convents. Her book, Life of the Mother Teresa of Jesus, talks about her life and the Book of the Foundations is about the establishment of her convents. And her other works include  The Way of Perfection, The Interior Castle, Spiritual Relations, Exclamations of the Soul to God, and Conceptions on the Love of God.

Her visions and callings from Christ played a huge role in her becoming a Carmelite nun and her faith, love, and prayers towards God helped St. Teresa through all her troubles.

Day 1

Let us begin, In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

O Saint Teresa, seraphic Virgin, beloved spouse of thy crucified Lord, thou who on earth didst burn with a love so intense toward thy God and my God, and now dost glow with a brighter and purer flame in paradise: obtain for me also, I beseech thee, a spark of that same holy fire which shall cause me to forget the world, all things created, and even myself; for thou didst ever avidly desire to see Him loved by all men.

Grant that my every thought and desire and affection may be continually directed to doing the will of God, the supreme Good, whether I am in joy or in pain, for He is worthy to be loved and obeyed forever. Obtain for me this grace, thou who art so powerful with God; may I be all on fire, like thee, with the holy love of God.

Amen.

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing;

God has given me the gift to read the signs, interpret the dreams, decode the angel numbers since birth. Through rigorous practice and application, my gifts have been fine-tuned. Now, I use my gifts solely to help those distressed souls who have lost all hopes, those who have been left alone to fend for themselves, those whom the system doesn’t care anymore, those whom the mainstream science has ignored.
