St. Gemma Galgani Novena

St. Gemma Galgani novena is prayed to by those suffering from backaches, tuberculosis, or those who have lost their parents. St. Gemma Galgani is the patron saint of those who are tempted, those who have lost parents, those who suffer from tuberculosis, students, and pharmacists. She is also the patron saint of love and kindness.

About St. Gemma Galgani

Gemma Galgani, a young Italian laywoman, was one of the stigmatists, a select group of faithful. Gemma was physically exposed to Christ’s wounds – the stigmata – from 1899 until her death in 1903.

Gemma was to be chosen with numerous spiritual encounters and great graces throughout her life. Others frequently misinterpreted these, resulting in criticism. In restitution, Gemma endured anguish, recalling how Our Lord had been misunderstood and ridiculed.

Gemma had a pleasant childhood and was raised in a loving household, yet tragedy hit her family on several occasions. Gemma’s mother died when she was only eight years old. Her older brother died when she was 17, and her father died when she was 19.

In 1887, on the feast of the Sacred Heart, she received the Holy Eucharist for the first time. It was unusual at the time for a kid to get the first communion at the age of nine; unlike today, the age at which children might receive the first communion varied by location, country, and diocese.

Pope St. Pius X did not establish the current practice of receiving children at the age of seven until several years after Gemma’s death.

Gemma’s hands, feet, and sides began to bleed every Thursday evening. On Friday afternoon, the bleeding stopped, leaving only white markings as a reminder.

Gemma had visions, raptures, ecstasies, and other mystical graces, but she also had to struggle with the devil’s terrible temptations.

Gemma lived a modest, simple life of prayer and service, despite her supernatural visions. Gemma, 19, took care of her seven brothers and sisters after her father died. She went about her everyday responsibilities of taking care of a household when she wasn’t spending time in silence and prayer.

She moved in with a family when her brothers and sisters were old enough to look for themselves, allowing her to devote more time to spiritual pursuits.

Day 1

Let us begin, In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Oh most Divine Lord, we humbly prostrate ourselves
before Thy Infinite Majesty,
and we adore Thee
and dedicate to Thy glory
the devout prayers which we now present to Thee,
as an act of devotion to your servant,
St Gemma Galgani,
whose intercession we are now imploring.

Most compassionate virgin, St. Gemma,
during thy short life on earth,
you gave a most beautiful example
of angelic innocence and seraphic love
and was found worthy to bear in thy flesh
the marks of our Lord’s Passion.
Have pity on us who are so much in need of God’s Mercy,
and obtain for us through thy merits and intercession,
the special favor which we now fervently implore.

God has given me the gift to read the signs, interpret the dreams, decode the angel numbers since birth. Through rigorous practice and application, my gifts have been fine-tuned. Now, I use my gifts solely to help those distressed souls who have lost all hopes, those who have been left alone to fend for themselves, those whom the system doesn’t care anymore, those whom the mainstream science has ignored.
