The Immaculate Heart of Mary is the devotional name given to the Blessed Virgin Mary, which represents her interior life and virginal body. Mother Mary portrays her holiness and unending love for her son Jesus Christ through her immaculate heart of joys and sorrows.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary brings about the unification between man and God through her ideas of consecration and reparation. A person who recites novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary becomes completely devoted to Our God.
St John Eudes of Normandy, France played an important role in bringing people close to the love of Christ and the Virgin Mary by speaking tirelessly about their Hearts, a sign of the love of God.
He offered liturgical worship in the form of Masses to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the first Feast of the Holy Heart of Mary was celebrated on February 8, 1648, at Autun (France,) and the Feast of the Heart of Jesus was celebrated on October 20, 1672.
A society was established dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, at the Church of Our Lady of Victories in Paris in 1836, which brought more devotion and faith towards the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The heart of Mary is the material object of devotion, and it is from this material object that this title is derived. It purely depicts Mary’s love and devotion with its true meaning and significance.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary also expresses her virtues, hidden perfections, her faith in God the Father, her compassionate love for all persons, and her redemptive sufferings. Her immense grace is said to overflow from the center of her being-her heart.
The unspoiled created perfection of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the source and wellspring of her purity therefore her heart is called Immaculate. The Immaculate Heart of Mary is said to be a gift from God where Mary is the only intermediary in this process of consecration.
Immaculate Heart of Mary is the Patroness of Apostleship of Prayer, Alliance of Sacred Hearts, Russian Territories, Scotland, Central Africa, Republic of the Congo, Angola, Ecuador, Panama, Philippines, and Georgia

A Solemn Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by Pope Pius XII
Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves and our families to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world.
Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the world.
O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully.
We come with confidence to You, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with your rule, triumph in every heart and home.
Amen.
