Antony of Padua or Anthony of Lisbon was an influential Catholic priest and a friar of the Franciscan Order. He was born in Portugal to a rich family.
Anthony traveled widely to spread the Gospel of Our Lord. St. Anthony died at the age of 35 and was canonized by Pope Gregory IX.
He is typically depicted with a book and the Infant Child Jesus.
