Our Lady of Good Success Novena can be prayed for nine consecutive days for fulfillment of any wish.
Our Lady of Good Success appeared in Quito, Ecuador during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries to a Spanish nun whose little-known but remarkable life has a direct connection to our day.
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a Conceptionist nun in Quito, Ecuador, at the end of the 16th century as Our Lady of Good Success. Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres was the nun to whom she appeared.
About Our Lady of Good Success
Mother Mariana was a Spanish Conceptionist nun who made the journey to the New World to assist in the establishment of the Royal Convent. This destined soul was blessed with many unique abilities from heaven, including the ability to foresee many future events, particularly the Church’s catastrophic plight.
Our Lady reminded her that in these troubled times, heresies would flourish, manners and customs would be nearly completely corrupted, and the light of the Faith would be entirely extinguished.
This 17th-century sister was asked to become an expiatory sacrifice for our times in order to atone for the innumerable profanations, blasphemies, and abuses and to promote the triumphant restoration.
Thus, Mother Mariana’s vocation connects her to the Church and social crisis that few would deny we are witnessing today in a unique way.
During the period between1594 and 1634, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres, a cloistered Conceptionist nun in Quito, Ecuador. Throughout this period Our Lady appeared to her and told her that she would like to be known as Nuestra Senora del Buen Suceso, which translates to Our Lady of Good Success in English.
She discussed with Mother Mariana the Catholic Church’s future prospects, especially in the twentieth century. Our Lady also foretold to her the severe trouble brewing in the Church and society at large at that time. Mother Mariana died of shock on witnessing the horror of the crisis engulfing the Church.

Significance of Our Lady of Good Success Novena
The graces and miracles that occurred throughout Mother Mariana’s life and after her death as a result of Our Lady of Good Success’ intercession are much too numerous to list here. There were other additional prophecies that came true as well.
Mother Mariana de Jesus was a mystic, prophetess, seer, and victim soul who resided in Quito, Ecuador, during the colony’s establishment as a Spanish colony. Only the finest of the Church’s canonized saints, such as St. Theresa of Avila and St. Catherine of Siena, have lifestyles that compare to hers. The intricacies of her life’s tribulations coalesced into a single lifelong martyrdom.
The feast day of Our Lady of Good Success is observed on February 2 in Ecuador and Spain, the day she appeared to Mother Mariana de Jésus Torres.
