Catholic Morning Prayer by Fr. François-Xavier Gautrelet

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day
for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world,
for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians,
and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month.
Amen.

Fatima Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings, all that this day may bring, be they good or bad: for the love of God, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for all the sins committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Morning Prayer for Peace Within

This prayer was written by St. Therèse of Lisieux and St. Theresa of Avila

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you
May you be confident knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Prayer of Gratitude

This morning prayer of gratitude by Joe Wessling

Let our prayer this morning be one of gratitude. Gratitude did not make it into the list of four “cardinal virtues,” but it is sometimes rightly recognized as a foundational virtue.

Let us each in turn name something worthy of our gratitude, concluding with “and so let us say.”

The group may respond, “For this we are grateful.”

Arising from Sleep

O Master and holy God, who are beyond our understanding: at your word, light came forth out of darkness. In your mercy, you gave us rest through night-long sleep, and raised us up to glorify your goodness and to offer our supplication to You. Now, in your own tender love, accept us who adore You and give thanks to You with all our heart.

Grant us all our requests, if they lead to salvation; give us the grace of manifesting that we are children of light and day, and heirs to your eternal reward. In the abundance of your mercies, O Lord, remember all your people; all those present who pray with us; all our brethren on land, at sea, or in the air, in every place of Your domain, who call upon your love for mankind.

Upon all, pour down your great mercy, that we, saved in body and in soul, may persevere unfailingly; and that, in our confidence, we may extol your exalted and blessed Name, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, always, now and forever. Amen

Prayer for Beginning of the Day

O God,
I find myself at the beginning of another day.
I do not know what it will bring.
Please help me to be ready for whatever it may be.

If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely.
If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly.
If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently.
If I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly.

I pray just for today, for these twenty-four hours,
for the ability to cooperate with others according to the way Jesus taught us to live.
“Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
May these words that he taught us become more than words.

Please free my thinking and feelings and the thinking and feelings of others,
from all forms of self-will, self-centeredness, dishonesty, and deception.

Along with my brothers and sisters, I need this freedom to make my choices today according to your desires.
Send your Spirit to inspire me in time of doubt and indecision so that, together, we can walk along your path.

Prayer for Gift of Today

Gracious God,
Thank you for the gift of today.
Refresh me. Invite me to discover your presence
In each person that I meet
And every event that I encounter.

Teach me when to speak and when to listen
When to ponder and when to share.
In moments of challenge and decision
Attune my heart to the whisperings of your Wisdom.
As I undertake ordinary and unnoticed tasks,
Gift me with simple joy.

When my day goes well, may I rejoice.
When it grows difficult, surprise me with
New possibilities.
When life is overwhelming, call me to
Sabbath moments
To restore your Peace and Harmony.
May my living today reveal your Goodness.

Being Thankful

Dear Lord, thank you so much for another day of life on Earth.
Thank you for another beautiful sunrise to enjoy.
Thank you for the wonderful sounds of nature, from the cool breeze brushing through the trees to the birds singing melodies.

You are a wonderful God, full of grace and mercy.
I praise you for allowing me another day to spend with my family.
I love you, Father! Amen.

Prayer for Strength

Dear Lord, I pray that you would give me the strength to be strong for You in the world today.
Lord, you know the struggles that I will face today.
Be with me as I go through them.
Carry me if I am too weak to move.
If I stumble in them, forgive me, Father.
When I succeed in them, I will praise You!
You are worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.

Prayer for One’s Family

Dear Gracious Father, I praise You for my family.
Thank you for my spouse. Even in his/her weaknesses, I love him/her unconditionally.

Thank you for my children. Every time I hear the pitter-patter of their feet across the house I smile. Joy overwhelms me, Father! Be with my family today as they go their separate ways. Bring us all back home safely to each other I pray. Amen.

Prayer for Career & Money

Dear God, I thank you for my job.
You have provided me with a steady income and I thank you.
I pray that you watch over me today at work and I pray that there are no accidents so that everyone can go back to their homes.

I thank you that my job has provided an income to support me and my family.
I thank you for the provisions that you have given to me, my house, car, and food.
I pray for safe travels to and from work and I pray that you will use me as you see fit today for Your Glory. Amen.

Prayer for the Bliss of Contentment

Dear Glorious Father, I pray that I will stay focused on you today.
I pray that You will constantly remind me to be content in all of my circumstances.
I pray that You will fill me up that I may be joyful all day, even if stress creeps in.
I know that through my contentment, You will be glorified.
I want to honor You, Father, in all that I do.
I praise Your Holy Name! Amen

Prayer Seeking Opportunities

Dear Lord, I pray today that I will yield my spirit completely to You, that You may use me as You please.
I pray that You will provide me opportunities to show people how much You mean to me.
Give me the discretion to know what to say and how to say it.
Make me bold enough, that I may proclaim salvation cheerfully and joyfully.
I pray that the seeds You allow me to plant will grow and mature.
I pray that You, Father, will water the seeds that You allow me to plant today.
I am forever grateful for the cross; may I proclaim it in a contagious way today. Amen.

A Daily Morning Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for this day.
I thank You for my being able to awake once again, to see, and to hear this morning.
I’m blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God.
You have done so much for me and You continue to bless me.

Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over.
Let me continue to see sin through Your eyes and acknowledge it as evil.
And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive Your forgiveness.
And when this world closes in on me, let me remember the example of Jesus — to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It is the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits.

I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood.
I pray for those who don’t know You intimately.
I pray for those who don’t believe, and I thank you that You are in my heart and that I do believe and have true faith in You.

I believe that You change people and You can change all things.
I pray for all my sisters and brothers, and for each and every family member in their households.
I pray for peace, love, and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than You.
Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.

I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly.
This is my prayer, and I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, and Savior.

Amen.

A Catholic Morning Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.

Most holy and adorable Trinity, one God in three Persons, I believe that Thou art here present; I adore Thee with the deepest humility, and render to Thee, with my whole heart, the homage which is due to Thy sovereign majesty.

O my God, I most humbly thank Thee for all the favors Thou hast bestowed upon me up to the present moment. I give Thee thanks from the bottom of my heart that Thou hast created me after Thine own image and likeness, that Thou hast redeemed me by the precious blood of Thy dear Son, and that Thou hast preserved me and brought me safe to the beginning of another day.

I offer to Thee, O Lord, my whole being, and in particular all my thoughts, words, actions, and sufferings of this day. I consecrate them all to the glory of Thy name, beseeching Thee that through the infinite merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour they may all find acceptance in Thy sight. May Thy divine Love animate them, and may they all tend to Thy greater glory.

Adorable Jesus, my Saviour, and Master, model of all perfection, I resolve and will endeavor this day to imitate Thy example, to be, like Thee, mild, humble, chaste, zealous, charitable, and resigned. I will redouble my efforts that I may not fall this day into any of those sins which I have heretofore committed (here you may name any besetting sin), and which I sincerely desire to forsake.

O my God, Thou knowest my poverty and weakness, and that I am unable to do anything good without Thee; deny me not, O God, the help of Thy grace; proportion it to my necessities; give me strength to avoid everything evil which Thou forbiddest, and to practice the good which Thou hast commanded, and enable me to bear patiently all the trials which it may please Thee to send me.
Amen.

Men and Women Overseas

Dear Merciful Father, I pray that you would keep your hand on our men and women defending our country so that we can be free.

Be with our soldiers as they go onto their assignments.
Bring them back to base safely. I praise you for our brave men and women!
I thank you for our brave men and women!

I also pray that you give them the skills that they need in every moment so that they can come back home safely to their families. Amen.

Morning Prayer of St. Francis
Morning Prayer of St. Francis

An Act of Faith

O my God! I firmly believe that Thou art one God in three Divine Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; I believe that Thy Divine Son became man, and died for our sins and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because Thou hast revealed them, Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived.

An Act of Hope

O my God! Relying on Thy infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Thy grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord, and Redeemer.

An Act of Charity

O my God! I love Thee above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because Thou art all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee. I forgive all who have injured me and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

An Act of Contrition

O my God! I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life.
Amen.

O Holy Virgin, Mother of God, my Mother and Patroness, I place myself under thy protection, I throw myself with confidence into the arms of thy compassion. Be to me, O Mother of mercy, my refuge in distress, my consolation under suffering, my advocate with thy adorable Son, now and at the hour of my death.
Amen.

O faithful Guardian and Father of virgins, blessed Joseph, to whom was confided the care of Jesus, and of Mary the Queen of Virgins, I most humbly supplicate thee, by the love thou dost bear Jesus and Mary, to obtain for me that, being preserved from every stain during my whole life, I may be ever able to serve them with unspotted purity of mind and body.
Amen.

May the power of the Father govern and protect me! May the wisdom of the Son teach and enlighten me! May the influence of the Holy Spirit renew and quicken me! May the blessing of the All-holy Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be with me, now and forevermore.
Amen.

A Prayer by St. Thérèse of Lisieux

O my God! I offer Thee all my actions of this day for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to Its infinite merits; and I wish to make reparation for my sins by casting them into the furnace of Its Merciful Love.

O my God! I ask of Thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will, to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in heaven for all Eternity. Amen.

God has given me the gift to read the signs, interpret the dreams, decode the angel numbers since birth. Through rigorous practice and application, my gifts have been fine-tuned. Now, I use my gifts solely to help those distressed souls who have lost all hopes, those who have been left alone to fend for themselves, those whom the system doesn’t care anymore, those whom the mainstream science has ignored.
