In order for our faith to grow, we devote ourselves to worshiping and praying to God, not because we want anything in return from Him but because we adore him. Adoration refers to the strong admiration, devotion towards God, and reverence we show to God. With the help of adoration prayers, we adore God and we focus our attention on who God is.
Adoration prayers are ultimately about communion with God. They help us focus our attention on aligning our hearts with God. It helps us honor God in a meaningful and reverential manner.
Some practice adoration prayers by acknowledging God’s worthiness, praising Him for who He is and all He has done, along with repeating back to God his attributes.
Adoration Prayers
1) An adoration prayer for God’s majesty
O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
2) Lord, I lift up my heart
Lord, I lift up my heart to You in love and adoration, and praise you for your greatness. You are the great and mighty King and all glory belongs to you. Words cannot describe how awesome You are. There is no other god that can be compared to You and there is none above You. You are the Creator of heaven and earth, and everything belongs to You. My heart bursts with joy when I think of you. Thank You, for all You have done and everything You will do. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

3) Prayer to our awesome God
Dear God,
There is no one like you. Glorious, wonderful, and awesome. Let my song be like the one sung by your people when you parted the Red Sea, led them to safety, and defeated their enemies. “Who is like you among the gods, O Lord?” You are my Protector, Provider, and Deliver. Thank you for performing great wonders in my life and the lives of my family!
It seems as though we toss around the word awesome to describe many things in the world. We say our food is awesome, people are awesome, and even accomplishments are awesome. Forgive me for comparing anything to you, because the truth is nothing can compare to your power and glory. You alone are awesome! In the name of your wonderful son Jesus I pray, Amen.
4) Sanctity of life
My God, we adore You here in the Blessed Sacrament.
As we kneel before You, we recognize You as the Creator of all
Life. We thank You and praise You for the lives you have given to
us and to those we love. Give us a true and lasting respect for all
life, for we recognize it as coming from You. We pray for all who
have suffered or died as a result of disrespect whether that
suffering and death has come as a result of abuse, war, gossip,
or abortion. We pray for an end for all disrespect of life. As we
kneel before You we ask You to forgive all those who do not respect
the sanctity of life. We repeat the words you spoke as you hung
on the cross, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’
5) Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas
Lord, Father all-powerful and ever-living God, I thank You, for
even though I am a sinner, your unprofitable servant, not
because of my worth but in the kindness of your mercy,
You have fed me with the Precious Body & Blood of Your Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ.
I pray that this Holy Communion may not bring me
condemnation and punishment but forgiveness and salvation.
May it be a helmet of faith and a shield of good will.
May it purify me from evil ways and put an end to my evil passions.
May it bring me charity and patience, humility and obedience,
and growth in the power to do good.
May it be my strong defense against all my enemies, visible and invisible, and the perfect calming of all my evil impulses,
bodily and spiritual.
May it unite me more closely to you, the One true God, and lead me
safely through death to everlasting happiness with You.
And I pray that You will lead me, a sinner, to the banquet where you,
with Your Son and holy Spirit, are true and perfect light, total fulfillment, everlasting joy, gladness without end, and perfect
happiness to your saints. grant this through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

6) Adoration
I adore You, Bread from Heaven. I adore You, Bread
of Angels. I adore You, My Jesus, truly present in the
Blessed Sacrament.
(Pause for silent adoration.)
I adore You, Jesus, my true life because You died for
love of me. I adore You, Jesus, Divine Light because
You show me the way to heaven. I adore You, Jesus,
Divine Lamb. Who takes away the sin of the world.
(Pause for silent adoration.)
My God and Saviour Jesus Christ, true God and true
Man, I finally believe that You are really and bodily
present in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. From
the very depths of my heart, I adore You.
(Pause for silent adoration.)
7) Prayer by Saint Faustina
I adore You, Lord and Creator, hidden in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I adore You for all the works of Your hands, that reveal to me so much wisdom, goodness and mercy, O Lord. You have spread so much beauty over the earth and it tells me about Your beauty, even though these beautiful things are but a faint reflection of You, incomprehensible Beauty. And although You have hidden Yourself and concealed Your beauty, my eye, enlightened by faith, reaches You and my soul recognizes its Creator, its Highest Good, and my heart is completely immersed in prayer of adoration.
My Lord and Creator, Your goodness encourages me to converse with You. Your mercy abolishes the chasm which separates the Creator from the creature. To converse with You, O Lord, is the delight of my heart. In You I find everything that my heart could desire. Here, Your light illumines my mind, enabling it to know You more and more deeply. Here streams of graces flow down upon my heart. Here my soul draws eternal life. O my Lord and Creator, You alone, beyond all these gifts, give Your own self to me and unite Yourself intimately with Your miserable creature.
O Christ, let my greatest delight be to see You loved and Your praise and glory proclaimed, especially the honor of Your mercy. O Christ, let me glorify Your goodness and mercy to the last moment of my life, with every drop of my blood and every beat of my heart. Would that I be transformed into a hymn of adoration of You. When I find myself on my deathbed, may the last beat of my heart be a loving hymn glorifying Your unfathomable mercy. Amen.
8) An prayer for God’s rescue and protection (Psalm 18:2, verses 30-31 and verse 46)
“I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
and I am saved from my enemies.” (Psalm 18:2)
“This God—his way is perfect;
the Word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? — (verses 30-31).
“The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock;
And exalted be the God of my salvation” (verse 46).
9) You are the King of Kings
Heavenly Father, I give You all the glory because You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. You are worthy of all my praise and worship, and I am filled with awe when I think about the great things You have done upon the earth. You are holy and righteous and You rule your people with justice. I praise You because You are faithful and true, and I know that I can always trust in You. May Your Kingdom be established in all the earth. In Jesus’ name amen.

10) Prayer and giving God glory
Holy God,
All glory belongs to you. I come to you in prayer to glorify your name—not because of what you do, but because of who you are. I adore you for being my Abba Father. Your unconditional love for me stretches to the highest mountain peaks and reaches to the depths of the seas. It is beyond anything I can fathom. Your love never ends, and great is your faithfulness!
11) Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Adorable Heart of Jesus, the tenderest, the most
amiable, the most generous of all hearts, penetrated with
gratitude at the sight of Thy benefits, I come to consecrate
myself wholly and unreservedly to Thee! I wish to devote all
my energies to propagating Thy worship and winning, if
possible, all hearts to Thee. Receive my heart this day, O
Jesus!
Or rather take it, change it, purify it, to render it
worthy of Thee; Make it humble, gentle, patient, faithful and
generous like Thine, by inflaming it with the fire of Thy
love. Hide it in Thy Divine Heart with all hearts that love
Thee and are consecrated to Thee; never permit me to take my
heart from Thee again. Let me rather die than grieve Thy
Adorable Heart. Thou knowest O Heart of Jesus, that the
desire of my heart is to love Thee always, to be wholly Thine
in life and in death, in time and eternity. Most Sacred
Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I
trust in Thee.
12) Prayer to the Eucharist Heart of Jesus
Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist,
I adore You.
Sweet Companion of our exile,
I seek You.
Holy God become man,
I beat with Your Heart.
Eucharistic Heart of Jesus,
solitary, abandoned,
humiliated, cursed,
despised, outraged,
ignored by men,
have mercy on us.
Lover of our hearts,
pleading for Your beloved,
patiently waiting for us,
eager to hear our confidences,
desirous of our devotion,
have mercy on us.
Heart of grace,
silent and wishing to speak,
Refuge of the hidden life,
Sharer of the secrets of union with God,
Eucharistic Heart of Jesus,
have mercy on us.
Jesus, Victim, I want to comfort You.
I unite myself with You.
I offer myself in union with You.
I count myself as nothing before You.
I desire to forget myself and think only of You,
to be forgotten and rejected for love of You,
not to be understood, not to be loved, except by You.
I will hold my peace that I may listen to You.
I will forsake myself in order to be lost in You.
Grant that I may quench Your thirst for my salvation,
Your burning thirst for my sanctification,
and that, being purged, I may give You a true and pure love.
I no longer want to deny Your expectations.
Take me. I give myself to You.
I entrust to You all my actions and thoughts — my mind, that You may enlighten it,
my heart, that You may fill it,
my will, that You may establish it,
my soul and body, that You may feed and sustain them.
Eucharistic Heart of Jesus,
Whose Blood is the life of my soul,
may it no longer be I who live,
but You alone Who lives in me.
13) Stay with me, Lord Prayer of St. Pio of Pietrelcina after Holy Communion
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength, that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life, and without You, I am without fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light, and without You, I am in darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much, and always be in Your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of love.
Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close, and life passes; death, judgment, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You. It is getting late and death approaches, I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!
Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers. I need You.
Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.
Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You, if not by communion, at least by grace and love.
Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for divine consolation, because I do not merit it, but the gift of Your Presence, oh yes, I ask this of You!
Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more.
With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to love You perfectly during all eternity.
Amen.

14) Eucharist Adoration Prayer
O Holy One, As we come together to remember your great sacrifice, Thank you that we can experience deep in our hearts the incredible nature of your grace. As we partake in this precious communion, Thank you that we unite with all the followers of Christ across the Earth and all that have gone before us.
As we contemplate the great price you paid for our sins, Come and draw us together, to embrace and forgive one another. As we confess our humanity, our fragility and our need of your Spirit, Help us as we endeavour to be your hands and feet to the poor and the oppressed. As we go from here and carry your gospel of peace, Fill us with your Spirit deep within our hearts.
As we lift our eyes to worship you, Refill us with hope as we glimpse again the promise of Heaven. Amen.
15) Prayer for the spread of perpetual adoration
Heavenly Father, increase our faith in the Real Presence of Your Son Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
We are obliged to adore Him, to give Him thanks and to make reparation for sins.
We need your peace in our hearts and among nations.
We need conversion from our sins and the mercy of Your forgiveness.
May we obtain this through prayer and our union with the Eucharistic Lord.
Please send down the Holy Spirit upon all peoples to give them the love, courage, strength and willingness to respond to the invitation to Eucharistic Adoration.
We beseech You to spread Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in parishes around the world. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen
Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament
