Angel de la Guarda which means My Guardian Angel is see considered a protective prayer that seeks to develop a bond between a child and his guardian angel for life.
As you may have guessed, this prayer seeks protection from the guardian angel who accompanies us all our life. It beseeches the angel to not leave our side ever and especially during difficult times.
This prayer is taught as soon as a Mexican child starts speaking. Parents also recite this prayer whenever children are scared or troubled.

Ángel de la Guarda, dulce compańía, no me desampares ni de noche ni de día.
