A tithe is a popular concept found in many religions. A tithe is a one-tenth part of your income, paid as a contribution to a local church.

As the custom of tithing is one of the cornerstones of Christianity, many Christians practice it. Tithing is also practiced by Jews.

Tithing is one approach to love God – to respect Him as your provider and help you remember that all your wealth belongs to him. God is the benefactor.

When To Tithe?

There is no fixed rule regarding when to offer tithe. If you go to the Church every Sunday then you can give tithe that time.

You can give 10% every month or every year. But the best way is to give your tithe when it comes so that you have it to give.

When you get your salary, make a budget immediately and allocate 10% for tithes.

Where To Tithe?

Commonly, the tithe has to be given to the local church. Tithes and offerings sustain the pastors and the Church.

What To Give?

You’ve to pay 10% of your income. Some people ask me if they should pay 10% on income before tax or after tax.

My answer is, ‘It doesn’t matter!’

What we have to understand about tithing is that it is about giving a part of your income for sustenance of your local community and church. Tithing enriches your soul.

Tithing is not compulsory. It has to be given with a smile and gratitude that Lord has given all this to you.
